Troubleshooting for GPS Lockbox Amplifier
Use a Tablet / Phone that you
know is working correctly and try this on the unit you suspect has a bad
amplifier to test it. This will let you know if there may be an issue with the tablet/
phone settings or software. Which you will need to check. If it still does not
work the proceed below.
·
Check
to see if the Blue LED light is on
·
If
Blue LED is on, we know there is power to the amplifier.
·
Look
behind amplifier and make sure power cable is firmly seated into the amplifier
unit.
·
Check
for bad LED Light if no Blue LED is on in step 1. If it is on in step one go
directly to Step 3.
·
Make
sure audio cable is connected to tablet / phone and amplifier.
·
Go
to settings and find ringtones in your tablet / phone. Select a ringtone and
play it. If you heard the ringtone you have a burned-out LED bulb, continue to
Step 3 if you did not hear the ringtone.
·
If
LED is burned out, you can send an email to GPSLockbox Service Dept. for a
replacement unit.
·
The
fuse should be near the electrical panel where the power cable is connected to
a 12volt source.
·
Find
the fuse holder and check the fuse and replace if necessary. The fuse should be
5amp.
·
If
the fuse is good you need to confirm the amplifier is connected to constant
power. Use a voltage meter to check that you have 12volt constant power. If not
change connection to a constant 12volt.
·
If
you do not have a voltage meter, you can try by turning on the ignition and see
if you now have power to the amplifier.
Amplifier still not on then you may have a bad unit Step 4 next.
(In some cases, installers may have
the 12Volt constant connected to an ignition that is why turning the ignition
on should be tested.)
