Initial Step to Take

Use a Tablet / Phone that you know is working correctly and try this on the unit you suspect has a bad microphone to test it. This will let you know if there may be an issue with the tablet/ phone settings or software. Which you will need to check. If it still does not work the proceed below.

Step 1

Look to see if the mic is getting power

·     Is the green light on the face of the microphone on when the amplifier is turned on?

·     If it isn’t on make sure amplifier is turned on. If it is on follow these Step 2. If it isn’t on and you verified no power, please see Amplifier Troubleshooting on second page to see

Step 2

Check Audio Cable

·     Make sure audio cable is firmly seated on the tablet/phone and into the back of the amplifier.

·     If still not working you can use an audio cable you know is working and swap that audio cable with the unit. Test again.

·     Still not working see Step 3, if working there is a bad audio cable.

·     Email GPSLockbox Service Dept. to request a replacement audio cable at service@gpslockbox.com

Step 3

Bad Microphone

·     Try swapping the microphone with a unit you know is working, if you have one.

·     Test with the swapped microphone you know works.
