Zello (Android) Setup for GPS Lockbox PTT Kit

Initial Setup

Once Zello is installed, navigate to the app icon on your device and click on it. Fill in the appropriate login information, and you will be taken to the main Zello screen.

Step 1

Options menu

·     Press the overflow menu button in the top right corner (3 vertical dots).

·     Press button labeled “Options”

Step 2

Push-to-talk buttons menu

·     Press button labeled “Push-to-talk buttons”

·     Press button labeled “Headset Hook”

·     NOTE: If there is no “Headset Hook” button is available, please see “New Headset Hook” setup below.

·     The “Push-to-talk button action” should be set to Toggle. If it is not, please select the drop down arrow on the right of the screen and select “Toggle”

·     The “Handle button in the background when possible” checkbox should be checked.

·     PTT button on Palm microphone will now act as PTT button when used.

New Headset Hook Setup

·     In the Options menu, press button labeled “Push-to-talk buttons”

·     In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the “+Add Button”

·     Press the button on the palm microphone.

·     NOTE: The PTT system and palm microphone will need to be powered on and connected to the device in order for Zello to recognize the button press.

·     “Headset Hook” option will now be available in the “Push-to-Talk buttons” menu.

·     The “Headset Hook” option should be set to “Toggle”

·      The “Handle button in the background when possible” checkbox should be checked.

·     PTT button on Palm microphone will now act as PTT button when used.
